- 5 Cylinder Coil-On-Plug
(COP) |
This
setup has either 2 spark outputs (4cy), 3 spark outputs
(6cy), 4 for a V8, 5 for a V10 and 6 for a V12 making it perfect for running a wasted spark configuration
with coilpacks. This is also suitable for use with a single
coil (distributor based setup) when wanting to upgrade
your engine to wasted spark at a later date, please let
me know if this is the case. It is an ideal system for
Distributorless setups that have a crank sensor and wheel.
These ECU's will give you control over your ignition
map (12x12 table) and your fueling with a 12x12
table (16x16 on MS2 and MS3), allowing you to tune the
engine properly.
For 12cy wasted engines the spark drivers
are in a Spark Driver Box see here, note this is included in the price for 12cy engines.
(Prices in the driver box image are for MS3X boards if they need drivers adding)
This includes a Tacho Output as standard |
|
These
setups have a spark output for each cylinder.
Wasted Spark COP: This ECU is designed to run on a 4 cylinder engine with COP's.
This means that two COP's are fired together and only
needs a crank signal (e.g. 36-1, 60-2).
Sequential COP: If you have a suitable cam signal (1 pulse per revolution)
and crank signal (e.g. 36-1, 60-2) then we can now use
both these to give a Sequential COP setup, that
fires one plug at a time.
These ECU's will give you control over your ignition
map (12x12 table) and your fueling with a 12x12
table (16x16 on MS2 and MS3), allowing you to tune the
engine properly.

Semi-Sequential Fuel
Setup
6 - 8
Cylinder |
This ECU has 4 fuel injector outputs (8 if using the MS3 with an MS3X) so it can run each fuel injector in a fully sequential operation. See HERE for more on sequential fuel. This allows you to tune the exactly angle during the 4 stroke engine cycle that the fuel is squirted in for each cylinder. The ignition can either be coil packs (wasted spark) or COP sequential.
Please note: A suitable cam signal is needed to run full sequential (1 pulse per cam revolution) and a suitable crank signal (60-2, 36-1, etc)
High Impedance Injectors only!
These ECU's will give you control over your ignition
map 12x12 table (16x16 on MS3) and your fueling with a 12x12
table (16x16 on MS2 and MS3), allowing you to tune the
engine properly.
The MS3 COP based setups have an MS3X board in them which gives you tacho output, launch control, NOS control, ADC inputs, etc see HERE for more. If using the MS3X then you'll need to use COPs with built in ignitors, e.g LS1, etc, as the MS3X board uses a low level spark output (5V) that can not directly fire coils without an ignitor. If the COPs dont have built in Ignitors then there is the option of adding a Spark Driver Box, see HERE |
|
This setup has either 3 or 4 fuel injector outputs that can run the fuel injectors in pairs in a Semi-Sequential fuel pattern on a 6 or 8cy engine. This allows you to tune the exact angle the fuel is squirted in during the CRANK cycle, so half will be squirted in during the exhaust stroke (inlet valve shut) and the other half just before the inlet opens, see HERE for more on sequential fueling.
Please note this needs a suitable crank signal, e.g. 36-1, 60-2, etc.
High Impedance Injectors only!
These ECU's will give you control over your ignition
map (12x12 table) and your fueling with a 12x12
table (16x16 on MS2 and MS3), allowing you to tune the
engine properly.

Rover V8 Plug-n-Play
Setup |
This ECU has 8 fuel injector outputs (so can run any engine up to an 8cy) sllowing each fuel injector to be controlled in a fully sequential operation. See HERE for more on sequential fuel. This allows you to tune the exactly angle during the 4 stroke engine cycle that the fuel is squirted in for each cylinder.
Please note: A suitable cam signal is needed to run full sequential (1 pulse per cam revolution) and a suitable crank signal (60-2, 36-1, etc)
High Impedance Injectors only!
This ECU will give you control over your ignition
map 16x16 table and your fueling with a 16x16, as well as fine tuning fuel and ignition for each cylinder, allowing you to tune the
engine to a very high accuracy!
The ignition can either be coil packs (wasted spark) or sequential COPs
The MS3 COP based setups have an MS3X board in them which gives you tacho output, launch control, NOS control, ADC inputs, etc see HERE for more. If using the MS3X then you'll need to use COPs with built in ignitors, e.g LS1, etc, as the MS3X board uses a low level spark output (5V) that can not directly fire coils without an ignitor. If the COPs don't have built in Ignitors then there is the option of adding a Spark Driver Box, see HERE |
|
This ECU directly replace the Lucas Hotwire (14CUX) on TVR's, Morgans, Rovers, etc, etc.
After working closely with V8Developments, we have come up with a plug in replacement ECU for the Lucas Hotwire system (14CUX) . This gives you all of the benefits of the MegaSquirt ECU, mappable fuel (and ignition if you go for that option), without the hassle of any modifications to the main wiring harness. This is available as fuel only (straight swap for the Lucas ECU) or as a wasted spark setup, giving you distributorless ignition. The wasted spark ECU needs an ignition loom adding (supplied with the ECU) and a 36-1 wheel mounting on the crank, etc, but the basic Lucas loom is left as it was and is used to supply the throttle angle, coolant, air temp (from a new sensor), etc, to the MS ECU. This keep's your wiring as close to original as possible, so you don't lose any of the originality if that's a concern for you. See HERE for more details
The RV8 PnP ECU is exclusively available from V8Developments

Please Note:
You don't need the MS3X in order to have some of these options on an MS3 ECU (or any of the MS ECU's I sell).
Some are available as add ons to the main board without the MS3X, see the MS2 and MS3 Options Tab above for more details.
The MS3X board is a module that plugs into the MS3 daughter board. This makes the MS ECU 3 layers high:
1: Main board (V3.0 or V3.57)
2: MS3 daughter Board
3: MS3X expansion board.
This option is only available for the MS3 ECU and it gives you the following inputs and outputs:
8 x Logic Level Spark Outputs - These are 5V triggers for COPs with built in ignitors (e.g. Yukon LS2) and can NOT drive a coil directly.
8 x High Current Injector Bank Drivers - These are capable of driving high impedance injectors (NOT lo-impedance)
4 x Logic Level Inputs - 3 that need to switch to ground, 1 that needs to switch to +12V. They can be used to control options like Launch, datalogging, N2O, switch maps, etc.
6 x Medium Current Outputs - For controlling NOS, Idle valves, Boost valves, tacho, etc.
3 x Spare ADC inputs - 0-5V inputs for second O2, etc.
1 x VR / Hall sensor input - This gives the ECU a total of 2 trigger inputs, e.g. one for the cam and one for the crank.
All my MS3 ECUs can have the MS3X board adding for £80.
MS3X wiring Looms start from £30, depending on spark and injector quantity.
Those marked with ** already have the MS3X built-in and include a loom
(so no extra charge)
Please Note:
You don't need the MS3X in order to have some of these options on an MS3 ECU (or any of the MS ECU's I sell).
Some are available as add ons to the main board without the MS3X, see the MS2 and MS3 Options Tab above for more
